One should focus on themselves before they focus on the world. One should learn about themselves before they learn about the world. One should study, analyze and contemplate on their own being before they do so on the rest of society. That is the problem that I see far to often nowadays – people who have no idea who they are and what they want, yet they are eager to ‘change the world’. They are confused, and discontent, and lost – but they believe that some dogma, some political party, some ‘movement’ will somehow fix their problems along with the problems of everyone else. How pitiful! The search for truth, the search for justice, the search for peace, the search for happiness – these things can wait. The search for oneself ought to take full priority, the others will soon follow.
