Perhaps, two thousand years from now – people will laugh at Wittgenstein in the same way that they currently laugh at Plato.
What I mean by this is that Plato at one time (and for many years) was considered the most intelligent philosopher, and his works were highly influential, respected and appreciated.
However, in our modern era, many of Plato’s ideas are criticized, ridiculed, and to some extent – even thought of as utter nonsense.
I think that it is interesting though, how at one point in time a man is considered the greatest that ever was, and then thousands of years later he is laughed at. It seems that today’s God’s become tomorrows fools. No matter how intelligent or insightful one might be, thousands of years later they could be viewed as just another idiot who could write.
